On Monday, January 20, the rotunda of the Capitol hosted the inauguration of the new U.S. President Donald Trump. The ceremony was attended by a large number of guests.
Novyny.LIVE correspondent Uliana Boichuk joined Americans in watching the inaugural ceremony in Washington DC.
Trump's inauguration
At one of the largest stadiums in Washington, D.C., Trump's supporters gathered to watch the oath of office to the American people and the inaugural speech.
According to the journalist, during the speech of the new US president, people cried, and when the cameras were pointed at the Democrats, including Biden and Harris, they shouted very unfavorably.
Among the guests, the first to arrive at the Capitol were high-ranking U.S. officials: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General C.K. Brown, as well as current and former leaders of the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate.
Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova also attended the event.
And President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Trump on assuming the presidency of the White House.
