Foreign Ministry responds to closure of foreign embassies
Today, a number of foreign countries announced the closure of their embassies in Kyiv for a day due to the "security situation". The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is always in touch with potential threats.
This was stated by Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi.
What the Foreign Ministry says about the closure of embassies in Kyiv
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the department is in constant contact with partners regarding potential security threats. In addition, they reminded that the threats of shelling by the aggressor state have been, unfortunately, a daily reality for Ukrainians for more than a thousand days.
"On this 1001st day of the full-scale invasion, the threat of Russian shelling is as relevant as it was in the previous thousand days. We believe that it would be right for our partners to react on the 1001st day in the same way as in the previous thousand days, without any additional information escalation", the statement reads.
The ministry also called on all Ukrainians to remain vigilant, not to ignore air raid warnings and to take cover in case of danger — as they do every time there is a threat of a Russian missile attack.
What preceded it
As a reminder, the US Embassy in Kyiv warned that a "serious" air attack on Ukraine is possible on November 20. Because of this, the institution will be closed.
Following the United States, other Western countries did the same. Among them: Spain, Italy, Greece, and Kazakhstan.
At the same time, the National Security and Defense Council said that the stockpile of Russian missiles has been known for a long time and that we must be prepared for massive shelling at all times.
