Return of Syrians home

Thousands of Syrians are stuck in huge traffic jams, some trying to get to Damascus on foot. This is happening as the regime of dictator Bashar al-Assad continues to fall.

According to Reuters, the rebels showed Turkey the details of the plan to overthrow the Assad regime six months ago, when Ankara failed to reach an agreement.

"The other way has not worked for years — try our way. You don't have to do anything, just don't interfere," the document read.

This allows millions of refugees scattered for more than a decade in camps across Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan to finally return home.

The newspaper writes that the sudden overthrow of the regime in Syria limits Iran's ability to proliferate weapons among its allies and could cost Russia its Mediterranean naval base in the Mediterranean.

Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War reported that the fall of the Assad regime is a significant geopolitical defeat for Russia. This creates serious challenges for the military presence in Syria.

According to the head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, a similar scenario to Syria may await Russia.

In addition, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has expressed its readiness to pave the way for the resumption of relations with Syria in the future.
