Newly elected US President Donald Trump has appointed Republican Michael Waltz as his National Security Advisor. According to Waltz, Trump wants to end the war in Ukraine and plans to bring the countries to negotiations.

Waltz believes that Trump wants to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table. According to him, the new US president is focused on ending the war, not prolonging it.

Also, Trump's vision of security policy toward Ukraine depends on his decision.

The publication noted that the adviser is responsible for informing the president about key national security issues and for coordinating with various agencies. Currently, this position is held by Jake Sullivan in the administration of the current head of the White House.

As a reminder, the US Senate elected a new Republican leader, John Thune, who supports assistance to Ukraine.

And Politico wrote that Trump is appointing supporters of Ukraine to positions. These are Mike Waltz and Marco Rubio.
