Putin wants to thwart Trump's efforts — Zelenskyy's speech
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is trying to thwart the efforts of the newly elected US President Donald Trump to end the war, which will take place after his inauguration. The Russian leader wants to escalate the situation, so that Trump does not succeed.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday, November 28.
Evening speech of Zelenskyy
The President said that during the Russian strike on November 28, more than 90 missiles and almost 100 drones were launched. The enemy's target was energy infrastructure and civilian objects.
According to Zelenskyy, despite a significant number of targets shot down, there were also hits, including "calibers" with cluster munitions, which complicated the work of rescuers and repair teams.
"Despite all the risks, our people have been working all day and are gradually restoring electricity to places where there were outages. I am grateful to everyone who has been at work since morning and will continue around the clock to restore basic normalcy to people," the Head of State said.
He also noted important decisions from partners, namely from Norway and the Netherlands:
• The Netherlands has transferred additional Patriot launchers to Ukraine.
• Norway has agreed on financial assistance to Ukraine for 2025, the minimum amount of which is $3.2 billion.
Zelenskyy also reported on negotiations with international leaders, including NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and announced tomorrow's conversation with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz.
"We must respond together to Russia's attempt to make the situation more unbearable and to drag out this war. We are interested in peace. All our partners and we. Now we need to strengthen our positions — Ukraine's positions, the positions of our partners. We must respond harshly to any Russian blackmail. As Putin deserves," the Head of State emphasized.
The President noted that Putin advertised Russian missiles once again and his readiness to kill and destroy in Kazakhstan on November 28.
"Putin obviously wants to add thousands more to the thousands of missiles that have already hit Ukraine. He does not need the end of this war. In addition, Putin wants to prevent others from ending this war. He can only wave his "Oreshnik" now in order to thwart President Trump's efforts, which will definitely happen after the inauguration," Zelenskyy emphasized.
According to him, Putin is trying to escalate the situation, so that the newly elected US President Donald Trump does not succeed, and he cannot end the war.
"Putin is the only culprit of this war and the only one who believes in war. That is why Putin's escalation now is pressure to force the US President to accept Russia's conditions later. We understand all the existing threats," the President of Ukraine said.
It should be recalled that on November 28, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the state budget for 2025. Next year's expenses are planned at the level of 3.6 trillion UAH.
Previously, the head of the OP Andriy Yermak stated that Ukraine is ready to organize a Second Peace Summit in the near future, the basis of which will be a peace framework agreed with partners.
