Ukraine shouldn't hold elections during wartime. According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, elections in the country will be held after peace is achieved.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during the presentation of the Internal Resilience Plan of Ukraine in the Ukrainian Parliament on Tuesday, November 19.

When can elections be held in Ukraine

According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine first needs a fair peace, after which Ukrainians will hold fair elections.

The President also called political debates in such conditions detrimental for Ukraine.

"But there are some people in Ukraine who may be "hungry" for this so much that they want to fight within our state more than for our state. They want political disputes in the trenches, like in film studios. This is detrimental for Ukraine," Zelenskyy emphasized.

As a reminder, the President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has already concluded 27 security agreements with partners. All of them support Ukraine's accession to NATO.

In addition, Ukraine is preparing to open the first cluster of negotiations on accession to the European Union. According to him, the procedure for screening the legislation necessary for this is currently being completed.
