Donald Trump, the newly elected President of the United States of America, made a cruel joke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He suggested that Canada become the 51st state of the United States.

This was reported by Fox News.

Trump's hundred Canadians pledge

Trudeau and Trump held talks at his residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. According to the newly elected US president, the trade deficit with Canada exceeded $100 billion.

He noted that Canada has "failed the U.S. border" by letting in large numbers of people and drugs, including illegal immigrants from more than 70 different countries.

Trump also threatened to impose significant tariffs of 25% on Canadian goods for failing to stem the flow of migrants and drugs. Trudeau responded that this would completely kill the Canadian economy.

"Your country can't survive if it's not ripping off the U.S. for $100 billion?" asked Trump.

He also joked, suggesting that if Canada's economy is destroyed, it could become 51 US states.

As a reminder, Trump has chosen the future director of the FBI. It will be former national security official Kash Patel.

In addition, Trump appointed a special representative for Ukraine. It will be retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg.
