Replacing Taurus — Germany to hand over 4000 UAVs to Ukraine
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that the country will soon start supplying Ukraine with kamikaze drones on a massive scale. These UAVs have high autonomy in the face of electronic warfare and can hit targets at a great distance.
This was reported by Bild.
Drones from Germany
For example, Germany may provide Ukraine with 4,000 Helsing attack drones with artificial intelligence technologies that give them greater autonomy in the face of EW. These drones are compared to the Taurus missiles that were refused to provide.
The publication writes that UAVs could be delivered in batches of several hundred per month from December. At the same time, some samples are reportedly already being tested and improved on the front lines in Ukraine.
These drones are also equipped with advanced software that helps them 'navigate' the terrain and fly to the target, even in difficult weather or scorched earth conditions. It is also capable of hitting the target autonomously, even if communication is lost.
In addition, the drone has four times the range of the Ukrainian models and is much cheaper than the American Switchblade or the Russian Zala and Lancet.
Pistorius emphasized that he is "very happy to start delivering drones" so that Ukraine can use them against important enemy targets, including command posts.
Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss the possibility of transferring Soviet MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.
And Norway agreed to join the Danish format of support for Ukraine. This means direct financing of weapons and equipment in Ukraine.
