In Syria, supporters of Bashar al-Assad killed 14 police officers. In addition, ten law enforcement officers were injured.

The murder of police officers in Syria
The publication notes that the killing of police officers occurred in the rural area of Tartus.
The transitional administration reported the incident against the backdrop of demonstrations and nighttime curfews in other regions, which have become the largest unrest since the overthrow of Assad.
The new head of the Syrian Interior Ministry announced the killing of 14 policemen and the wounding of ten. According to him, this was done by "remnants" of the Assad regime in Tartus. The minister promised to deal with anyone who dares to undermine Syria's security or endanger the lives of its citizens.
Earlier, the Syrian police announced a nighttime curfew in the city of Homs. This happened after the unrest caused by demonstrations organized by representatives of the Alawite and Shiite religious communities.
As a reminder, on December 23, the U.S. military carried out airstrikes against ISIS positions in Syria. As a result of the operation, two members of the Islamic State and a truck with weapons were destroyed.
The ISW also reported that Russian troops continue to be stationed at the Hmeymim air base and the port of Tartus in Syria. Moscow plans to complete the withdrawal by February 2025.
