Trump has chosen Director of National Intelligence — who is she
US President-elect Donald Trump has chosen who will be the new Director of National Intelligence. The position will be held by former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard.
Trump wrote about this on his page on the social network X.
What is known
Trump emphasized that Gabbard, who is a former congresswoman and lieutenant colonel, has been defending the interests of the United States and the freedom of every American for more than 20 years.
"As a former candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, she has broad support in both parties - now she's a proud Republican! I know that Tulsi will bring the fearless spirit that has defined her illustrious career to our intelligence community, upholding our constitutional rights and ensuring peace through strength," he wrote.
It is known that in recent years, Tulsi Gabbard has often spoken out against supporting Ukraine.
In April 2022, the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that Gabbard had been working with foreign audiences for a long time with financial support from Russia.
After the outbreak of a full-scale war, she repeatedly stated that "the United States is to blame for Russia's military aggression" because it had been provoking it for years.
She also claimed that the ruling elite in Washington was using Ukrainians to harm as many Russians as possible.
"Tulsi Gabbard has been repeatedly accused of having ties to Putin, but this does not prevent her from acting as an expert on Fox News. In addition to the topic of war, Gabbard is actively misinforming the world about the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine's biolabs", the Center for Countering Disinformation wrote earlier.
As a reminder, the newly elected US President continues to form his future team. In particular, the position of Secretary of Defense will be held by Fox News Channel host Pete Hegseth.
Meanwhile, Florida Senator Marco Rubio will become the new US Secretary of State in the Trump administration.
