US consults allies on response to DPRK's role in the Ukraine war
The United States is consulting with partners and allies on how to respond appropriately to the DPRK's military engagement. Matthew Miller has so far refused to disclose specific decisions.
This was announced by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller at a briefing.
The United States' Response to the DPRK's Involvement of Troops
"We are consulting with our allies and partners about the appropriate response to the deployment of North Korean soldiers inside Kursk to potentially engage in combat", Matthew Miller said.
The US State Department spokesman also added that he could not make any official comments on specific decisions at this time and said that the response to Russia's actions would not be a US response alone. He noted that "a whole coalition has been assembled, uniting fifty countries".
"I can tell you that on behalf of the United States, we are going to continue to support Ukraine. We are going to continue to support them on the battlefield, and we are going to continue to work to maintain the alliance that we have put together", told Miller.
The United States has also expressed concern to China over the increased cooperation between Russia and the DPRK.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 11 thousand DPRK soldiers are on the border of Ukraine in Kursk region, some of whom have already joined the fight against the Ukrainian army.
Former Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also explained why the threat to South Korea is growing in light of the DPRK's actions against Ukraine.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is also concerned about the escalation of the conflict with North Korea, and he called on his partners to increase assistance to Ukraine.
