At the 7th German-Ukrainian Business Forum, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to German business for its resilience and support for Ukraine after the start of a full-scale war. He noted that not a single German company has left the Ukrainian market, and many of them continue to invest in the Ukrainian economy.

This was reported by a correspondent of Novyny.LIVE Halyna Ostapovets from Berlin on Wednesday, December 11.

What Ukraine can offer Germany

Among the companies that continue to invest in Ukraine, Shmyhal mentioned Bosch, Kostal, Knauf, ODV Electric and dozens of others. According to him, this is an important signal for other investors and confirmation of faith in Ukraine's victory and a common future with Europe.

"I thank them for this support, for this important signal to other German businesses for their belief in our victory and our common future. Ukraine is a field of broad opportunities for Germany and for all of Europe. This is a joint promotion when German businesses invest in our economy and receive not only profit, but also strategic benefits in key industries and spheres. The first strategic benefit is critical raw materials," the Prime Minister said.

Shmyhal emphasized that Ukraine has unique opportunities for economic cooperation. Its subsoil contains 21 of the 30 critically important elements identified by the European Union, in particular lithium, graphite, cobalt, nickel and titanium. These resources are necessary for the sustainable development of German industry, and the demand for them will only grow.

"Today, Germany needs stable supplies of metals and rare earth elements to develop its production. This demand will only grow over time. Ukraine is able to satisfy it and thus provide an impetus for the growth of the German economy. We can be part of the industrial chains, extraction, processing and supply, unified with the European Union," the head of the Ukrainian government added.

It should be recalled that on December 11, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz in Berlin. The agenda includes issues of reconstruction and reform. Previously, the Chancellor of Germany spoke about the assistance allocated to Ukraine.
