Putin said that Oreshnik will be an alternative to nuclear weapon
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that the appearance of the "Oreshnik" missile system in service with the aggressor state reduces to a minimum the need to use nuclear weapons. At the same time, he said that Russia is not exacerbating, but improving its combat doctrine.
Putin said this at a meeting of the "Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights" in the Russian Federation on Tuesday, December 10.
Putin on the development of "Oreshnik"
"Generally speaking, now we need to improve not the nuclear doctrine, but the "Oreshnik", because, if you look at it, a sufficient number of these modern systems... simply put the practically no need to use nuclear weapons on the verge of being eliminated," the dictator said.
The head of the Kremlin also noted that Russia "is not exacerbating, but improving the nuclear doctrine".
In addition, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has asked Putin to place the Russian so-called "Oreshnik" system on the territory of the country. He is already looking for a place for it.
According to a report of the American Institute for the Study of War, the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria is a significant geopolitical defeat for Russia. The overthrow of the Assad regime creates serious challenges for the Russian military presence in Syria.
Previously, an American veteran said that as soon as the Russian economy begins to collapse, this in turn will threaten Putin with physical reprisals.
