During his speech, Kobakhidze blamed the opposition and foreign powers for the events.

He also stated that allegedly European politicians, who "failed to realize the Ukrainization of Georgia" are trying to use the status of an EU candidate and the issue of opening negotiations to "weaken the country" and "artificially reduce the population".

Kobakhidze emphasized that the "Maidan scenario" cannot be implemented in Georgia.

"They also failed to realize that, unlike Ukraine in 2013, Georgia is an independent state with strong institutions and, most importantly, experienced and wise people whose power cannot be shaken. The Maidan scenario cannot be realized in Georgia," added the Prime Minister.

To recap, in Georgia, security forces used new water cannons with pepper gas against protesters.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda also expressed support for Georgians who support the country's European course.
