During a debate at the European Parliament session, Danish MEP Anders Wisten made a sharp comment on U.S. President Donald Trump's statements about Greenland. The politician was subsequently reprimanded.

The video of Wisten's speech was published on social network X.

What did Wisten say to the U.S. president?

During the debate, Wisten made an emotional statement, emphasizing that Greenland has been part of Denmark for 800 years, twice as long as the United States, and is not for sale.

"Dear President Trump, listen very carefully: Greenland have been a part of Danish Kingdom for 800 years. It is an integrated part of our country. It is not for sale. Let me put it in words you might understand: Mr. Trump, fuck off!" the deputy said.

Immediately after his speech, Wisten was reprimanded by the President of the European Parliament. He is also likely to be forced to pay a fine for violating the rules of procedure.

On January 7, President-elect Donald Trump said a deal was needed to bring Greenland into the U.S. He said this after his son visited the island with representatives of the Republican Party.

In response, Greenland's Prime Minister Mute Egede noted that the islanders do not want to become part of the United States, but are ready to develop cooperation with Washington. He stressed that Greenland should remain Greenlandic.
