Orbán reacted harshly to Zelenskyy's comment on Christmas truce
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán responded to the criticism from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the idea of a Christmas truce. He said that Budapest would not respond to "provocations".
The Hungarian Prime Minister posted his message on the social network X on Wednesday, December 18.
What Orbán said
According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, Budapest will not respond to any provocations.
"We will not respond to any provocations. There is a ceasefire proposal on the table. Take it or leave it. It's your responsibility," Orbán wrote.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for his attempts at "mediation", emphasizing that he has no leverage over Russia.
In addition, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán not to manipulate with "peacekeeping" and not to arrange unilateral contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding Ukrainian issues.
