Germany announced the provision of a new aid package to Ukraine — what is on the list
On Friday, October 11, the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz announced the provision of a new package of military aid to Ukraine. It will be handed over with the support of Belgium, Denmark and Norway by the end of the year.
Scholz said this during a meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Berlin.
New aid for Ukraine
Scholz emphasized that the main issue in supporting Ukraine remains air defense assistance.
He emphasized that Ukraine was given a new package worth 600 million euros, which includes the fifth IRIS-T SLM system, tanks, howitzers, ammunition and drones.
"We will deliver another package worth 1.4 billion euros to Ukraine with the support of partners — Belgium, Denmark, Norway — by the end of the year," Scholz said.
The Chancellor of Germany noted that the aid package for 1.4 billion euros also includes air defense systems, IRIS-T, anti-aircraft artillery complex Skynex, "Gepards", guided howitzers, self-propelled guns, armored vehicles, combat drones, radars and ammunition.
It should be recalled that at the beginning of October, Germany transferred additional IRIS-T air defense systems to Ukraine. This aid was co-financed by Norway at the German initiative.
And in September, Germany allocated an additional 400 million euros for the supply of weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Another 170 million euros will be directed to the restoration of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
