Musk has mixed reaction to Zelenskyy's interview
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave an interview to American podcaster Lex Friedman. The interview focused on the war in Ukraine and the fight against corruption.
American businessman Elon Musk shared the interview on his X page on Monday, January 6.
Here's my conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy (@ZelenskyyUa).
— Lex Fridman (@lexfridman) January 5, 2025
It was an intense and heartfelt conversation, my goal for which was to do my small part in pushing for peace.
We spoke in a mix of 3 languages: English, Ukrainian, and Russian. It's fully dubbed in each of those 3… pic.twitter.com/2zoxM0FG89
Musk's reaction to the interview
Musk simply reposted Fridman's post with a link to an interview with Zelenskyy.
"Interview with @ZelenskyyUa," he added.
It should be noted that in November 2024, a public dispute arose between Zelenskyy and Musk. During an interview with Ukrainian Radio, the Ukrainian president declared the independence of our country and emphasized that no state could force us to "sit down and listen" at the negotiating table.
Musk then mocked this statement in a post on X, writing "He has an amazing sense of humor". This provoked different reactions in society and the media: some took it as a hint at Zelenskyy's political experience, given his past as a comedian, while others saw it as inappropriate interference in Ukraine's political affairs.
Previously, Musk has repeatedly spoken out on political topics related to Ukraine, including the war with Russia and possible ways to achieve peace.
However, the American businessman decided not to comment on Zelenskyy's interview with Fridman.
As a reminder, during the translation of the interview, Fridman distorted the meaning of the Ukrainian leader's statement that Ukraine punishes corruption with a "slap on the wrist."
The Ukrainian president also gave a powerful metaphorical example of how Putin treated Chechens during the war in Ichkeria.
