After the nighttime massive combined attack of the Russian invaders on Ukraine on November 28, three nuclear power plants in our country reduced electricity production in the morning. These are Khmelnytsky, Rivne and Pivdennoukrainska NPPs.

This was stated by Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, according to the Аgency website.

NPPs reduced electricity production

The IAEA reported that the situation after the new Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure has further jeopardized nuclear safety.

Grossi emphasized that for the second time in less than two weeks, Khmelnytsky, Rivne and Pivdennoukrainska NPPs reduced their power levels "as a precautionary step" during a massive Russian attack using missiles and drones.

At the same time, air raid alarms were heard at three sites, Grossi said. In addition, he added, two IAEA teams in Ukraine were forced to seek shelter during the air attack.

Earlier, the IAEA reported a decrease in electrical power at Ukrainian nuclear power plants due to the Russian attack. This has damaged the country's energy infrastructure.

Novyny.LIVE also wrote that the Pivdennoukrainska NPP signed a contract with Yuzhenergobud for construction of engineering protection of important plant facilities worth UAH 595 million.
