North Korea sends 12,000 soldiers, including special forces, to war in Ukraine — Yonhap
South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) said that North Korea has decided to send troops to war in Ukraine. Pyongyang wants to support the Russian occupiers.

How many troops is North Korea sending to Ukraine
According to South Korean intelligence, Pyongyang is sending four brigades, totaling 12,000 soldiers, including special forces, to war in Ukraine. This will be the first large-scale deployment of North Korean ground forces.
The National Intelligence Service's assessment appeared after South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol called an emergency security meeting amid speculation that North Korea could transfer its soldiers to Russia for further involvement in the war in Ukraine. Seoul also reported that the mobilization of troops "has already begun."
"Babel", citing a source of Ukrainian intelligence, reported that Russia is preparing about 11,000 North Korean soldiers to participate in the war against Ukraine.
The training is taking place at grounds in Khabarovsk, Ussuriysk, Blagoveshchensk and Vladivostok. They will be ready to fight from November 1. The first unit of 2,600 soldiers will be sent to Kursk.
We previously reported that Russia is preparing to transfer North Korean troops to Ukraine. They are being prepared for deployment in border areas near Ukraine.
Information about the North Korean intention to transfer troops to Ukraine was also confirmed by the President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He stated that North Korean officers are already in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
