The war continues not only on the front line, but also in the information space. Russia has been carrying out cyberattacks on Ukraine's energy sector for the third year in a row.

This was announced by Minister of Energy German Galushchenko during the ReBuild Ukraine conference in Warsaw on Wednesday, November 13.

Information attacks of the Russian Federation

Galushchenko claimed that the war is fundamentally changing the approach to energy security and will allow us to abandon Russian energy sources for the future.

"I think that a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine will really change the energy model for the future, forever. I hope forever. Sometimes I just heard talk that the war will end and, perhaps, we will return to Russia for resuming some cooperation on energy," the Energy Minister said.

He emphasized that even after the end of the war, resuming energy cooperation with Russia would be a big mistake for any country.

"The world should get rid of Russian energy sources forever and not feel energy dependence," Galushchenko noted.

During the conference, he also added that cyberattacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure began in November 2021 and continue to this day.

"We are at war for the third winter in a row, and Russian cyberattacks began in November 2021. These were massive attacks that are still ongoing. We were forced to change the rules and implement projects that did not exist in the world before," the minister noted.

He also apologized for sometimes speaking harshly about certain procedures with partners, adding that when they were resting in August, there were daily shellings in Ukraine.

As a reminder, the Minister of Energy stated that Ukraine still faces the risks of a nuclear accident due to Russian attacks.

In addition, during the ReBuild Ukraine conference, German Galushchenko noted that Ukraine plans to build wind power plants with a capacity of about 800 megawatts.
