More and more Ukrainians want negotiations with Russia right now — survey results
The number of Ukrainians who believe that negotiations with Russia "is an effective way to achieve peace that should be used now" has increased significantly. According to the latest poll, conducted from September 20 to 26, 2024, a total of 35% of respondents share this opinion. At the same time, 48% of respondents consider this approach unacceptable.

Survey results
Compared to September 2023, when only 21% supported the negotiations, there has been a significant increase in the number of supporters of this idea. Last year, 63% of Ukrainians opposed the negotiations, while in 2024 this figure dropped to 48%.
The share of those who believe that negotiations are possible only after the withdrawal of Russian troops to the positions as of February 23, 2022 has also increased — 37% vs. 25% in 2023. At the same time, the number of those who insist on returning to the 1991 borders before negotiations begin has decreased from 61% to 49%.
The study also showed regional differences in views on the negotiations: the majority of supporters of immediate negotiations are in the South (48%), while in the West the majority (57%) oppose it.
The survey was conducted by face-to-face interviews in the government-controlled territories of Ukraine among 2016 respondents, with a margin of error of 2.3%.
