"The contact group plays an important role in coordinating international support to help Ukraine defend its sovereignty from Russia's unprovoked aggression," the statement said.

The Pentagon noted that this will be the 25th meeting of the coalition, which includes some 50 countries united in their desire to help Ukraine.

This time, at an air base in Germany, Austin will meet with defense ministers and senior military leaders from around the world to discuss Ukraine's immediate battlefield needs, long-term defense requirements, and coordination through coalitions of forces and capabilities.

In particular, the meeting will focus on ensuring the continued supply of key capabilities, including air defense systems, artillery ammunition and armored vehicles, and strengthening the defense industrial base.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense to repel enemy attacks.

And Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said that Ukraine continues to strengthen relations with NATO, which contributes to further coordination in providing military assistance.
