Zelenskyy met with EU Council Secretary General Berset — topic
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Secretary General of the EU Council Alain Berset. The interlocutors talked about creating a special tribunal to punish the crime of aggression and bring Russian war criminals to justice.

According to Zelenskyy, they discussed the creation of a special tribunal to punish the crime of aggression and bring Russian war criminals to justice. The President emphasized the importance of international cooperation for achieving justice.
"We discussed the need to create a special tribunal for the crime of aggression. It is important to bring Russian war criminals to justice," the report says.
The Ukrainian leader noted that special attention was paid to the issue of the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war and the return of children who were illegally deported by Russia.
In addition, the Head of State highly appreciated the role of the EU Council in creating the Register of Damages.
"We appreciate the role of the EU Council in creating the Register of Damages as a component of the international compensation mechanism. Ukraine is counting on the creation of a Commission for the Consideration of Applications and a Compensation Fund, as well as on the leadership of the EU Council in this process," Zelenskyy concluded.
Previously, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to a study of Yale University on the abduction of Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories. According to him, this is another solid evidence of Russian war crimes.
It should be recalled that Alain Berset became the new Secretary General of the EU Council on September 18. He stated that the first priority of his policy will be support for Ukraine.
