President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held telephone talks with US President Joseph Biden. He said that the US has announced a new aid package worth $425 million.

The head of state reported this via Telegram on Wednesday, October 16.

Zelenskyy about aid from the US

"President Biden's leadership in uniting the world and America's strong bipartisan support were crucial and helped Ukraine to stand firm and protect our independence," the President wrote.

Zelenskyy noted that the aid package will include new air defense systems and long-range weapons.

"He proposed to consider the possibility of developing joint weapons production. We also discussed the importance of additional training for Ukrainian soldiers," the message stated.

The presidents also discussed the upcoming online meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group in the "Ramstein" format.

Zelenskyy informed Biden about his address to the Ukrainian parliament, where the Victory Plan received the support of all parliamentary factions. Tomorrow, it will be presented to partners in the EU at a meeting of the Council of Europe.

"We continue to work with partners on the implementation of the Peace Formula. We thank the US for its readiness to help Ukraine strengthen its positions in order to force Russia to engage in honest diplomacy," the President added.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy spoke in the National Parliament on Wednesday, October 16. He presented the Victory Plan there.
