Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the war will end faster with the Donald Trump administration. However, there is no exact date.
The Ukrainian leader said this during an interview with "Suspilne" on Friday, November 15.
The role of the Trump administration in ending the war
Zelenskyy emphasized that Trump had heard the basis on which the Ukrainians stand. According to him, he had not heard anything against this position.
The Head of State was asked whether Trump had demanded that Ukraine should participate in negotiations with Russia.
"We are an independent country. And during this war, our people and I personally in negotiations with the US, and with Trump, and with Biden, and with European leaders proved that the rhetoric of "Sit down and listen" does not work with us," he noted.
The Ukrainian leader believes that under the Trump administration, the war will end faster.
"A fair peace is very important for us, so that there is no feeling that we have lost the best for the injustice that was imposed on you. The war will end, but there is no exact date. Of course, with the policy of this team, which will now head the White House, the war will end faster. This is their approach, their promise to their society, and it is also very important for them," Zelenskyy added.
As a reminder, Trump claimed that immediately after starting his work, his administration will focus on resolving the war in Ukraine.
Trump is also considering the possibility of appointing a special Ukrainian peace representative.
