Zelenskyy reveals losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
On Saturday, December 7, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President-elect Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. During the meeting, the Ukrainian leader mentioned the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this via Telegram.
Losses of the Armed Forces in the war
According to him, in Paris, the leaders of the countries discussed important things on the battlefield in Ukraine and in the global situation - from our front to North Korea. Zelenskyy emphasized a just peace that Russians should not destroy in a few years.
"We see how Russia is now trying to conquer Georgia after several wars against this country. Russia is still not letting go of Moldova. Russians are now fleeing Syria, but this does not mean that they will not try to sow death there again. There is a Russian military presence even in Africa, and it is for the purpose of destabilization," he said.
The Ukrainian leader noted that we must first and foremost talk about effective guarantees of peace, because Ukrainians want it most of all. So far, Russia has lost more than 750,000 people in Ukraine, 198,000 of whom were killed.
"Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has lost 43,000 soldiers who died on the battlefield. 370 thousand cases of assistance to the wounded, and this is taking into account that in our army about 50% of the wounded return to the ranks, and all wounds, including light and repeated ones, are recorded," the President added.
He emphasized that the difference between Ukraine and Russia is that we have a much higher level of development of frontline medicine.
Zelenskyy also urged not to forget about the thousands of Ukrainian prisoners, including both military and civilians. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 3935 Ukrainians have already been returned home: 3,767 soldiers and 168 civilians.
In addition, Russia has deported hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories and scattered them throughout its territory. At the same time, at least several million people remain in the TOT.
"This is what this war is. It cannot be ended with a piece of paper and a few signatures. And a ceasefire without guarantees can be reignited at any time, as Putin has already done before," he concluded.
Earlier, Trump said that Zelenskyy and Ukraine were ready to conclude a deal with Russia to end the war.
And Axios wrote that Trump was hesitant about meeting with Zelenskyy in Paris, but was convinced by Macron.
