The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced that our country is closer than ever to NATO membership. At the same time, he noted that Germany still looks at this skeptically.

Zelenskyy reported this on Friday, October 18.

Ukraine is getting closer to NATO

Zelenskyy is convinced that Ukraine, with the assistance of the United States, is now closer to NATO than ever. At the same time, Germany continues to maintain a skeptical attitude towards this.

In particular, he recalled that Germany has still not provided Ukraine with long-range missiles and permission to strike with them at Russian territory. The President also emphasized that Germany's support on the path to NATO is extremely important to him.

"Unfortunately, the leading countries have not yet lost the desire not to completely close the door to the Russian Federation — in my opinion, this is my impression," Zelenskyy noted.

We previously reported that the United States will provide Ukraine with new aid packages worth $500-700 million every 2-3 weeks. This will help strengthen our country over the next few months.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy called official invitation of Ukraine to NATO the only way to stop the war with Russia and ensure the survival of Ukrainians.
