Hundreds of settlements in Ukraine lost power — Ukrenergo expains why
On Monday, October 7, several hundred settlements in Ukraine lost power due to bad weather and hostilities. Electricity consumption is also increasing.

Hundreds of settlements are without electricity
The power company reported that 70 settlements in the Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad and Chernihiv regions were cut off from electricity due to bad weather.
"Due to hostilities and other reasons, 517 settlements in the Donetsk, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kherson regions are without power this morning," the statement said.
Ukrenergo added that an increase in electricity consumption has been recorded since the morning.
"Power consumption is growing. Today, as of 9:30 a.m., its level was 2.8% higher than on the previous working day — October 4," the company stressed.
They also called for the use of powerful electrical appliances only from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
As a reminder, the National Energy and Utilities Commission is preparing for changes in the electricity market. In particular, the maximum electricity prices are expected to rise on November 1.
Previously we reported, that Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Research Center, told how long there will be no electricity restrictions in Ukraine. He made the forecast based on the weather and the absence of large-scale Russian attacks.
