Ukraine and Russia exchanged lists of prisoners of war in Belarus

Ukrainian Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets met with Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova in the Republic of Belarus. The parties exchanged lists of prisoners of war.

Lubinets said that the bodies of the dead soldiers had been repatriated.
"Carrying out a humanitarian mission, Ukraine once again helped reunite families. As a result of the negotiations, a 91-year-old woman met with her son. Thus, we show that family reunification is the most important thing, and we hope that our communication on this issue will continue," he emphasized.
Ukraine and Russia exchanged lists of prisoners of war who were visited by both sides. They also exchanged letters. The countries initiated a new format — they transferred letters from Ukrainian relatives to Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Russian Federation.
"I emphasize that I am interacting with the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights to resolve humanitarian issues, return Ukrainians home, and obtain information about our citizens in the Russian Federation," Lubinets added.
As a reminder, 563 more bodies of dead soldiers were returned to Ukraine. Law enforcement agencies and forensic experts will work for identification of the dead soldiers.
Previously, Lubinets responded to Russia's statement that Ukraine was allegedly refusing to accept some prisoners of war, and denied this information.
