1000s of prisoners have been freed from Sednaya prison, now flooding the streets, a monumental moment.
For many, the frantic search begins, desperate to know if their loved ones are among the living or the lost.

Imprisonment of women with children in Syria
During the release of prisoners by the rebels in Syria, a video captured the moment when the doors were opened. As the women were leaving their cells, a little child could be seen walking down the corridor. In total, tens of thousands of people were released from their cells.
In particular, in the Sednaya prison near Damascus, the rebels heard people screaming when they opened the cells. Amnesty International dubbed these places "a slaughterhouse for people".
The material says that during Assad's rule, the prisoners were tortured: they suffered from disease and hunger. Dozens of people were also executed every week. According to general estimates, up to 13,000 Syrians may have been killed between 2011 and 2016.

Civil defense teams are now working to release those who may still be held in hidden underground cells on political charges.
"The teams consist of search and rescue units, wall-breaking specialists, iron door-opening teams, trained dog handlers and medics," the newspaper writes.
The Telegraph notes that a torture device was found in Sednaya prison.
The torture machine in Sednaya prison is the piston, with which they crush the detainee until he becomes like paper, and then the remains of his body are disposed of with ease. What a brutal mind this is, and how many screams were made inside it.

"It was used to crush prisoners after they were hanged," the article says.
According to human rights activists, this prison was considered one of the most brutal under the Assad regime, where people were regularly killed by torture.
The Institute for War Studies considers the fall of the Assad regime a geopolitical defeat for Russia.
And the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, said that a scenario similar to Syria could be waiting for Russia.
We also wrote that thousands of Syrian citizens have decided to return home, and huge traffic jams have been reported.
