An attempt was made in Russia to assassinate ousted Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad. It is known that they wanted to poison him. Assad's condition has now been stabilized.

On Sunday, December 29, Assad reportedly sought medical attention. He began to cough and choke heavily.
"There is every reason to believe that an assassination attempt was made," the source said.
It is likely that Assad was undergoing treatment in his apartment. His condition stabilized on Monday, December 30.
Tests showed that there was poison in his body. There is currently no confirmation from Russia.
As a reminder, Bashar al-Assad's wife wants to divorce her husband and leave Russia. Asma al-Assad has filed a lawsuit.
Earlier, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Moscow had "achieved its goals in Syria". He claims that the main goal was to prevent the emergence of terrorist groups.
