The situation in Transnistria
It is known that in Transnistria, heating has been cut off and hot water supply has been suspended since January 1.
The leader of the region, Vadym Krasnoselsky, said that the available gas reserves would last for ten days of limited use in the northern part and twice as long in the south.
According to him, the energy crisis is a serious challenge. He assured that the authorities of the unrecognized republic have taken various measures to prepare, including switching the power plant to coal.
In addition, schools are being switched to remote mode, and local authorities are setting up points to provide people with heat and hot meals.
As a reminder, political scientist and international expert Maksym Nesvitailov expressed the opinion that Moldova has the opportunity to regain control over Transnistria.
Also, on December 29, the authorities of the self-proclaimed Transnistria announced that they would cut off gas supplies to a number of state institutions.
