Turkey asks the US to lift sanctions against Russia on energy
Turkey is negotiating with the United States and Russia. The issue is the lifting of sanctions against Russia on the sale of energy resources to other countries.
Reuters writes about this on Tuesday, November 26.
Sanctions against Russia
Turkey is trying to achieve the lifting of US sanctions in order to continue paying "Gazprombank" for imports of Russian natural gas. They were imposed last week by the US President Joe Biden as part of measures aimed at punishing Moscow for the war in Ukraine.
The publication writes that Turkey imports almost all of its gas, and its main supplier is Russia, which meets more than 50% of the country's needs.
"These sanctions will affect Turkey. We cannot pay, and if we cannot pay, we cannot buy goods. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is negotiating," Turkish Minister of Energy Alparslan Bayraktar said.
It should be recalled that the UK will introduce the largest package of sanctions against the Russian shadow fleet. It includes 30 vessels that violate restrictions on oil supplies.
We also wrote that Canada is preparing new sanctions against Russia. The reason is the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children and other civilians from the TOT.
