Trump appoints Susan Wiles as White House Chief of Staff
President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he has already chosen a White House Chief of Staff. He wants to appoint Susan Wiles to this position, who, in turn, will become the first woman in US history to hold such a position.
This was reported by CNN.
Trump to appoint Susan Wiles as head of the White House
"Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the biggest political victories in American history and was an integral part of my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns. Susie is strong, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to make America great again. It is a well-deserved honor that Susie has become the first female Chief of Staff in the history of the United States. I have no doubt she will make our country proud," Trump said in a statement released on Thursday.
Who is Susan Wiles
Susan Wiles is a well-known political figure from Florida. She has been working with Donald Trump for quite some time now, serving as his advisor and helping him as a campaign manager in the 2020 election campaign. She also took control of the 2024 election campaign.
Notably, on election night, Trump mentioned Wiles in his victory speech, although she refused to speak to the crowd gathered at the Palm Beach Convention Center.
Earlier, CNN reported that Wiles allegedly set certain conditions for Trump before accepting the position of Chief of Staff — the main one was greater control over who could contact the president in the Oval Office. After all, during Trump's first term, his chiefs of staff tried to prevent informal advisers, family members, friends, and other outsiders from entering the White House to meet with the president.
As a reminder, Xi Jinping warned Trump of possible negative consequences in the event of a confrontation with China.
Also, according to ISW analysts, Putin will look for ways to improve relations with America while Donald Trump is in office.
