Trump is planning to fire the current FBI Director Christopher Wray, as evidenced by the statement about his intention to appoint Kash Patel to this position. He is known to have advised the Director of National Intelligence and the Secretary of Defense during Trump's first term in office.
Earlier, Patel called for stripping the FBI of its intelligence-gathering function and purging its ranks of employees who refuse to support the new president's policies.
"And I would take the 7,000 employees who work in this building and send them all over America to go after criminals. Go and be cops. You are cops. Go and be cops," he stated.
The publication notes that, according to the law, FBI directors are appointed for a 10-year term, which is intended to isolate the bureau from politics.
To recap, Trump has appointed a special representative for Ukraine. It will be retired Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg.
And CNN wrote that Trump appoints people loyal to him to positions in the government.
