Trump may hold secret talks with Kremlin before inauguration

US President-elect Donald Trump, who won the November 6 election, may begin non-public talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin before his inauguration. In this way, he may want to create a "groundwork" for the implementation of his peace plan.
This was stated by Atlantic Council analyst Peter Dickinson in a commentary for LIGA.net.

"It can be expected that Trump's first step in implementing his "peace plan" will be an attempt to lay the groundwork for talks with Putin," the analyst said.
He explained that Trump could organize non-public talks with Moscow before the inauguration. The outcome of such talks could be a draft agreement that would be presented to Kyiv. In turn, the Ukrainian government will have to accept or reject it. If Ukraine does not accept Trump's peace plan, America is likely to withdraw its support, as Peter Dickinson suggests.
Or Trump will try to publicly strengthen Ukraine's position in order to create a basis for negotiations. But this may happen if Donald Trump wants Ukraine to enter the negotiations from a position of strength.
As a reminder, WSJ journalists, citing their own sources, published some theses from Trump's peace plan, which refers to Ukraine's rejection of NATO and the freezing of the conflict.
