The newly-elected US President Donald Trump could form a political alliance with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Pope Francis to reach a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. It involves territorial concessions.

The Independent writes about this, citing diplomats.

A dangerous alliance

Hungarian Ambassador to the Vatican Eduard Habsburg-Lothringen believes that the alliance of Trump, Orbán and Pope Francis could force Kyiv to make territorial concessions for ending the war.

He noted that the Pope actively supports the idea of ending the war and may support the peace agreement that the new alliance will develop. Orbán and Francis have long called for an end to the war, especially taking into account the Hungarian minority in Ukraine, as well as the threats to regional security are posed by the conflict.

Habsburg-Lothringen emphasized that US-Hungarian relations were at their peak during Trump's first presidency, especially in the fight against illegal immigration, support for traditional family values and peace initiatives.

The diplomat added that the Pope could join the Trump-Orbán alliance. According to the ambassador, Francis expressed his support for Budapest during a recent visit to Hungary. Sharing the position on the speedy end of the war, Hungary hopes that the Pope will support a peace agreement that is opposed by Western NATO allies.

It should be recalled that newly-elected US President, Donald Trump, expressed interest in two points of "The Victory Plan" during a September meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

And informal discussions have begun at the Pentagon regarding the action plan of the US Department of Defense in case if newly-elected President Donald Trump makes dangerous decisions.
