Russia's methods of genocide against Ukrainians — Skibitskyi
Russia continues the genocide of the Ukrainian people, using similar methods as during the time of Catherine II and the USSR. Only the tools have changed.
Deputy Chief of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi announced this at a forum dedicated to the anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war and on the eve of the Holodomor Remembrance Day on Friday, November 22.
The genocide of Ukrainians lasts for years
Skibitskyi emphasized that the Russian Federation has never stopped the genocide of the Ukrainian people.
"We can recall many of the events that were held on our territory, where there were not just genocide, but outright destruction of our people," the Deputy Chief of Defense Intelligence of Ukraine said.
According to him, the methods used by Russia have not changed since the time of Catherine II, the Bolsheviks and the USSR — only the tools have changed.
"The tools have changed somewhat. Technologies, mass media and the Internet, which influence human consciousness. Secondly, if once they took away estates, now they are "squeezing" business in temporarily occupied territories, theft and export of agricultural land, etc." Skibitskyi noted.
He emphasized that the Russian Federation takes a comprehensive approach to the issue of the genocide of the Ukrainian people. The Deputy Chief of Defense Intelligence said that an updated strategy for the state cultural policy of Russia until 2030 was adopted in September 2024, which clearly indicates the Ukrainian issue and all the actions that the aggressor will take on TOT.
"Russia has not come up with anything new, it is simply an improvement of the aggressive policy that the Russian Federation is pursuing and, by the way, not only towards Ukrainians, but also towards those countries that, in their opinion, should be under Moscow's control," Skibitskyi said.
It should be recalled, that the head of the MID Kyrylo Budanov stated that Russia was preparing for the genocide of Ukrainians even before the start of the full-scale invasion. A set of measures were carried out.
Budanov is convinced that Ukrainians should know their history and be proud of it. He emphasized that it is also necessary to accept its difficult periods and events.
