The situation at the front and energy sector — Zelenskyy's speech
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had heard reports on the situation on the front line and in the energy sector. He also called what is included in the new aid package from the United States of America.
The Ukrainian leader said this during an evening speech on Tuesday, December 3.
The situation at the front line
Zelenskyy heard a report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation at the front line. He noted that the Donetsk areas currently require significant reinforcement, in particular, weapons from partners.
"And we are talking in detail about this with partners. And we are working on increasing our production, our Ukrainian defense industry. Our long-range capability will be greater," the Head of State emphasized.
Zelenskyy reported that Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov had returned from a foreign trip, and he reported on new agreements and the implementation of previous ones.
The President says that Ukraine expects air defense systems from several partners in December. In addition, there are certain things that can be done in January for the air shield. Zelenskyy emphasized that winter is a huge temptation for the Russian occupiers.
Ukraine's energy system
The Ukrainian leader also heard a report on the energy sector. He thanked all repair crews, every employee of energy companies who are currently eliminating the consequences of Russian strikes and protecting the system.
"Conscientious work in each region, at each facility, is very important. And this is a responsibility not only for our facility, but for the entire country — for the stability of our entire state and the protection of all our people. We must now work as hard as possible at the level of the government and the Ministry of Energy to all our regions and communities," Zelenskyy noted.
Aid package from the United States
The Head of State said that a new package of weapons from the United States was announced the day before.
"The pace of logistics is increasing, and that's what is needed. This package is $725 million of worth. Missiles for air defense, artillery, means to stabilize our positions," he added.
It should be recalled that Zelenskyy commented on the Yale University study on the abduction of Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories.
In addition, on December 3, the Head of State held a meeting of the State Defense Committee, at which one of the key topics was the discussion of concluding contracts for the production of weapons in Ukraine.
