Switzerland has promised immunity from arrest to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He will have such guarantees if he decides to take part in peace negotiations.

The Times reported it on Monday, January 13.

Switzerland will grant immunity to Putin

Official Bern regularly informs Kyiv, Washington, and Moscow that it is ready to hold a new summit to find peace in Ukraine. This statement was made by Nicolas Bidot, a spokesperson for the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is worth recalling that Switzerland is legally obliged to detain Putin following an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court if the President of the Aggressor State attends the summit.

However, Bidot underlined that the Swiss government has the authority to make an exception for peace talks and will guarantee Putin’s immunity.

We also wrote that Switzerland has declared its readiness to organize a meeting between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and the newly elected President of the United States of America Donald Trump on its territory. This scenario is possible if the Swiss side is asked to do so.

ISW analysts have assessed the willingness of Moscow to negotiate. They claimed that it would not lead to a full and sustainable peace.
