Russia prepares for aggression without limits against the West
Russia is ready to carry out military operations in Western countries. It is preparing to act without any restrictions or warnings. If NATO does not activate Article 5 of its charter, the Alliance will suffer a serious failure as a defense structure.
This statement was made by the President of the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany, Bruno Kahl, during the presentation of his book at the German Federal Foreign Office, as Ukrinform reports.
Russia may attack the West
Kahl also noted that, according to the estimates of German intelligence services, Russia could prepare for a direct confrontation with NATO by the end of this decade. At the same time, he admitted that there is currently no direct evidence that would indicate that Moscow is actively preparing for war with the Alliance.
"At the moment, we do not have particular evidence... But anything is possible," Bruno Kahl said.
The official also added that under certain conditions, in particular if the Russian leadership is dominated by radical politicians, Russia may dare to enter into conflict with NATO, even in case of failure in the war against Ukraine.
Kahl noted that the sooner the war in Ukraine ends, regardless of its outcome, the sooner Moscow will begin to restore its forces for a possible strike on the territory of the Alliance.
He emphasized that one of the Russia's key goals is to split the Western bloc before a direct conflict begins. According to Kahl, Russia continues to test the West's "red lines" using hybrid methods, without any restrictions or warnings.
"There will be cases in the future, when Russian special services will demonstrate around the world that Putin can do anything, including in a lethal sense, in relation to everyone he can reach," the president of Federal Intelligence Service of Germany noted.
Russia has been preparing since 2008
Western intelligence agencies, according to the head of the German Federal Intelligence Service, Bruno Kahl, have been monitoring Russia's military preparations since 2008.
The Russian Federation has invested much more actively during this time than NATO countries in strengthening and modernizing its Armed Forces, and is actively using combat operations to test its conventional weapons.
Although the Russian defense-industrial complex is inferior to Western technologies, it remains competitive in some areas. Russia pays special attention to the militarization of society: Russians are instilled with the idea of confrontation with the West from childhood, creating an image of the enemy among the population.
The goal of Moscow, which views the West as its main adversary and is waging war against it on the territory of Ukraine, is to become the dominant power on the European continent. If Russia succeeds, Europe will lose its political weight and influence in the world.
"We must counter this with unity and combat capability," Kahl emphasized.
He also noted that Putin's agents are actively working around the world, trying to discredit Ukraine and shape its negative image. Such efforts are partially yielding results, as confirmed by the growth of support for right-wing and left-wing populists in Germany, as evidenced by recent elections in some federal states.
It should be recalled that the deputy head of the MID Vadym Skibitskyi told Novyny.LIVE how the Russians are destabilizing the population of Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said when Ukraine would be ready for negotiations with Russia. Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War analyzed why Putin rejects the possibility of freezing the war in Ukraine.
