Russian dictator Putin interrupted the government meeting with an urgent call. He explained that it was an "international conversation".

Vladimir Putin stated this during the meeting on Thursday, January 23.

What is known about the urgent call

According to the President of the Russian Federation, he had an urgent need to hold an "international telephone conversation". It happened in the middle of the government meeting. However, Putin did not specify who exactly called him.

It should be added that the new President of the United States, Donald Trump, promised to call Vladimir Putin "as soon as possible" after his inauguration. It is not yet known whether the two leaders have already spoken. It was later reported in the Kremlin that the President of Guinea-Bissau had called Putin.

As a reminder, the Polish Minister Radosław Sikorski said that Putin has changed since Trump was first in the presidency. He advised the new US administration to take this into account.

During the Davos Forum, Donald Trump said that the United States aims to end the war in Ukraine. This is currently being actively worked on, and a decision will be made soon.
