South Korean President declares martial law in the country

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has declared martial law in the country. According to him, this is due to the threat posed by pro-North Korean forces.

Martial law in North Korea
During a televised briefing, the South Korean President called for the enactment of martial law critical to protecting the country's constitutional order. He emphasized that such a decision was made to prevent pro-North Korean forces from depriving South Korean citizens of their freedom and happiness.
"I am declaring martial law in order to protect liberal South Korea from the threats posed by North Korea's communist forces and to eliminate anti-state elements," President Yoon Suk Yeol said.
The Head of State also emphasized that opposition forces have a dominant influence in parliament, show sympathy for North Korea, and block the work of the government. They are taking actions that can be regarded as directed against state interests.
It is currently known that the South Korean Ministry of Defense is convening a meeting of "key commanders" to formulate an action plan in connection with the declaration of martial law.
At the same time, the leader of the ruling party stated that the declaration of martial law is unconstitutional. He intends to block it with the help of the people.
Previously, we reported that now that North Korean soldiers are fighting against Ukraine, the situation for South Korea has become even more threatening than it was before.
It should be recalled that about 10 thousand North Korean soldiers are currently located in the Kursk region. The Pentagon suggests that this could affect the situation at the front line.
