Celebrations of the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah which is traditionally celebrated in Uman, continue. However, 14 thousand pilgrims were unable to get to the city.

This was reported by the Official Channel of the United Jewish Community of Ukraine.

How many pilgrims arrived in Uman

As of October 2, more than 30 thousand pilgrims have arrived in Uman. However, more than 14 thousand eager Hasidic pilgrims did not make it to the city. Some were unable to get there because of Iran's shelling of Israel yesterday, which closed the airspace and canceled all flights as part of security measures.

It should be noted that Rosh Hashanah is celebrated in Uman from October 2 to 4. Pilgrims come there to celebrate the Jewish New Year, because it is there that the spiritual mentor Rabbi Nachman is buried. To ensure public order and security, the presence of Ukrainian and Israeli law enforcement officers and rescuers in Uman has been increased.

As reported earlier, it became known how much Hasidim in Uman earn during the celebration. It is also known that rental prices have risen sharply in the city, with even dirty rooms being rented out.
