Germany allocates 70 million euros for Ukrainian power equipment
Germany will allocate additional 70 million euros for Ukraine. These funds will be used to purchase small thermal power plants, boiler houses and other power equipment.
This was stated by Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz at the 7th German-Ukrainian Business Forum on Wednesday, December 11.
Additional 70 million euros for Ukraine from Germany
As Scholz noted, Germany is giving a clear signal that Ukraine will get through this winter. Another 70 million euros and more than 8,000 units of energy equipment will be allocated to restore facilities destroyed by the Russian Federation.
"The German government is currently allocating 70 million euros for small thermal power plants, boiler houses, generators and solar systems. The German economy is also participating in the provision of more than 8,000 units of aid, such as transformers, so that production can continue despite the destruction caused by Russian attacks," Scholz said.
He also added that Germany is trying to strengthen Ukraine's air defense as much as possible. The Chancellor is convinced that this will not only help save lives, but also support the economy.
"We have already delivered five SLM systems and three Patriot systems. Additional Patriot launchers and even more "Gepard" tanks will be added by the end of the year," Scholz added.
As a reminder, Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz said that Ukraine would receive some more types of weapons by the end of the year. In addition, he called on partners to provide increased assistance to Ukraine.
