The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine commented on the final declaration of the BRICS summit in Kazan. The department drew attention to paragraph 36 of the final declaration of the BRICS summit, in which its participants recalled their own national positions on the situation in Ukraine, their commitment to the goals and principles of the UN Charter, as well as to peaceful settlement and diplomacy.

The corresponding statement was published on the MFA website on Wednesday, October 23.

MFA on the BRICS declaration

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that this declaration confirms the failure of Russia in its attempts to "export" neo-imperialist ideas and change the international legal order through aggression against Ukraine. It is noted that Moscow's efforts to impose the concept of an alternative position of the so-called "Global South" have again failed.

"The declaration demonstrated that BRICS as an association does not have a unified position on Russian aggression against Ukraine. The BRICS summit only once again confirmed that the world majority remains on the side of Ukraine in its aspirations," the report says.

Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that UN Secretary-General António Guterres "damages the reputation of the United Nations." The reason is that Secretary-General Guterres accepted the invitation of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the BRICS meeting in Kazan.

It should be reminded, that Poland will strengthen its influence on Russian diplomatic institutions in the country in case of an increase in Moscow's subversive actions. Poland has already introduced restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats only within the Masovian region, but may even expel Russian Ambassador Sergei Andreev.
