Helped the occupiers to advance on Pokrovsk — Russian agent detained by Security Service of Ukraine
The Security Service arrested a Russian agent who was trying to flee Ukraine. She spied on the Defense Forces in the Donetsk region, and helped the Russians advance on Pokrovsk.
This was reported by the press service of the Security Service on Wednesday, October 16.
What is known about the collaborator's activities
According to law enforcement officials, the traitor spied for the enemy in the Donetsk region and "leaked" the locations of Ukrainian troops in one of the hottest areas of the front line — Pokrovsk, to the occupiers.
After completing hostile missions near the frontline, the informant arrived in the Kirovohrad region, from where she planned to leave as an "IDP" to the European Union and then to Russia.
However, the SSU detained the Russian agent in a rented apartment, where she was preparing to leave for Russia.
According to the investigation, the subject is a 38-year-old resident of Selidove in the Donetsk region. The woman was part of an FSB agent network that was neutralized in October 2023 during a special operation by the Security Service in the region.
At that time, SSU officers detained two spotters who were tracking the movements of heavy military equipment of the Armed Forces in the Avdiivka area. For the sake of concealment, all three agents operated separately but had a common curator from the FSB.
The main targets of the enemy were fortifications and combat positions of Ukrainian artillery, which was holding back the advance of the occupiers' assault groups toward Pokrovsk.
What punishment the traitor is going to receive
During the search, the detainee's Russian passport and cell phone, which she used to communicate with her curator, were seized.
The woman was served a notice of suspicion of treason committed under martial law. The offender is currently in custody. She faces life imprisonment with property confiscation.
As a reminder, an agent of the Russian GRU, who was directing missiles on the city, was recently arrested in Mykolaiv. Now he faces a long prison sentence.
In addition, a verdict was handed down against a resident of Bakhmut, who helped the occupier forces take the city. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
