US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin arrived in Kyiv on October 21 for a working visit. This is his fourth visit since the beginning of the full-scale war.

Lloyd Austin announced this in his Twitter (X) account.

Austin's visit to Kyiv

"I'm back in Ukraine for the fourth time as Secretary of Defense, demonstrating that the United States, alongside the international community, continues to stand by Ukraine," Austin wrote in his X account.

At the same time, CNN reported that during the trip, the Pentagon chief will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his counterpart Rustem Umerov to discuss Ukraine's arms needs and how the United States can continue to support the Armed Forces over the next year. Austin's visit comes amid an escalating situation on the frontline, where Ukrainian forces continue to face serious challenges.

As a reminder, Austin recently made a statement about the DPRK's participation on the side of Russia in the war against Ukraine. According to him, he could not confirm this information, but the United States was "watching" it.

It should be noted that on October 19, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot visited Ukraine. He addressed the Ukrainians with a message.
