Automation will be an advantage in battles for Ukraine, — Reuters
The main direction of innovation on the battlefield for Ukraine will be automation of processes. Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has caused a boom in the development of military technologies.
This was reported by Reuters with reference to representatives of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex on Monday, November 18.
Automation on the battlefield
The vast majority of more than 800 companies in Ukraine's rapidly growing defense-industrial sector were founded after Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022.
Many of them were created in response to rapidly changing conditions on the battlefield, including the emergence of drones — first in the sky, and then on land and at sea — as well as counter-drone technologies and, increasingly, artificial intelligence.
According to Reuters, automation will become the main direction of innovation on the battlefield, will allow overcoming the shortage of personnel and reduce the risk of death on the front line.
There are currently more than 160 companies in Ukraine that specialize in the development of unmanned ground vehicles. They can be used to deliver ammunition, evacuate the injured or transport controlled machine-guns remotely.
The head of one of the production facilities said that he is working on the creation of automated machine gun systems. Six of his products are already replacing human shooters at the front line, allowing them to control weapons on the screen far from dangerous conditions.
It should be recalled that Germany may transfer to Ukraine 4,000 attack drones from the Helsing company with artificial intelligence technologies.
Previously, Novyny.LIVE wrote that the Russian occupiers in the war against Ukraine are using Gerber drones, which consist of plywood and foreign electronics. The enemy assembles such drones at a factory in the city of Yelabuga.
